Meet Dr. Lida Far

Relationship expert. Dating strategist. Matchmaker. And someone who has spent over 15 years hearing what really happens behind the scenes of modern dating.

As a Relationship and Sex Therapist, I've spent years helping people understand connection — what draws us to someone, what keeps relationships working, the patterns we repeat, and the things that can make two people look perfect on paper but function very differently in real life.

Along the way, I kept seeing the same problem: thoughtful, accomplished, relationship-ready people weren't necessarily struggling with how to love. They were struggling with where and how to meet someone who actually fit their lives.

That's what led me to matchmaking.

From the Therapy Room to the Dating World

I've had a front-row seat to modern dating for more than 15 years. I've heard the dating app disasters, emotional plot twists, ghosting stories, and plenty of “Should I text them again?” debates.

I've worked with people navigating heartbreak and divorce, introverts overwhelmed by small talk, neurodivergent singles trying to date in a system that doesn't always work for them, people returning to dating after years away, and successful professionals who built full, interesting lives — but somehow never found enough room on the calendar for love.

And underneath all those different experiences, I kept noticing something important:

Finding more people wasn't necessarily the problem. Finding the right people, and knowing what to look for when they showed up, was.

A Different Kind of Matchmaking

I created Matchmaking by Dr. Lida to bring more thought, insight, and actual human judgment into a dating landscape increasingly driven by algorithms.

My approach goes beyond demographics, hobbies, and a checklist of preferences. I consider the things that often matter much more once two people actually meet: values, communication style, emotional availability, attraction, lifestyle, relationship patterns, family goals, cultural considerations, and long-term compatibility.

There is no compatibility percentage deciding who you should date and no algorithm determining who looks good on paper.

There are real conversations, insightful questions, carefully considered introductions, and the perspective I've developed from years of working professionally with relationships, communication, intimacy, and connection.

Matchmaking isn't therapy. But everything I've learned about how relationships work in real life informs the way I approach it.

Dating Should Still Feel Human

I don't believe finding a meaningful relationship should feel like taking on another full-time job.

Whether you're exploring Matchmaking or Dating Coaching, my goal is to help you approach dating with greater clarity, intention, and a much better understanding of what — and who — may actually fit the life you've built.

If you're ready to date with depth, intention, a little humor, and genuine connection, you're in the right place.
